The first article of the present law brings forth amendments throughout the text of the Code on expropriation of immovable property in order to comply with the provisions of the Greek Constitution.
The law, apart from the provisions of the law regulating matters on electronic communications, transport and public works, with Chapter D (art. 123-132) brings forth extensive amendments throughout the text of the Code on expropriation of immovable property.
The law brings forth the Code of compulsory acquisition (expropriation) of immovable property. It consists of two articles (ratification of the Code and entry into force).
This Law may be cited as the compulsory expropriation (Amendment) Act 2014 and shall be read together with the Compulsory expropriation Laws of 1962-2006 (hereinafter referred to as the "basic law") and may be referred collectively as the compulsory expropriation laws of 1962 to 2014.
This Law, consisting of 24 articles divided into 5 Parts and 1 Annex, establishes the requirements to be satisfied and procedures to be followed in case of compulsory expropriation of private property for public purposes.
