La Plataforma de Defensores y Defensoras de la Tierra y el Territorio frente al Extractivismo (Plataforma DDT) trabaja en el compromiso 10 de la ILC para América Latina y el Caribe (ILC-ALC) y está comprometida con la generación de información para sus más de 300 organizaciones miembro.

Enlisting a case study approach in the Maya-K’iche’ community of Almolonga, this article examines divergent meanings and practices of “development” and its impact on the migratory aspirations and outcomes of Indigenous families in Guatemala.

In this paper, the authors describe in detail the process and purpose of a participatory mapping project in northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and elaborate on the lessons learned so far. The paper concludes with a set of recommendations to take the process forward for greater sustainability and long-term land rights protection.
