El avance del agronegocio sobre territorios ocupados por agricultoras y agricultores familiares y sobre territorios ancestrales de comunidades indígenas se ha ido intensificado en los últimos años, con graves consecuencias como desalojos forzosos, en muchos casos violentos, ya sea por el uso de las fuerzas policiales o empresariales, poniendo en riesgo la vida de quienes resisten a los mismos.
Las comunidades shipibas cuyos territorios se ubican en la provincia de Coronel Portillo, región Ucayali, enfrentan múltiples amenazas a sus derechos territoriales y sus vidas: narcotráfico, tala ilegal. Pero no solo actividades ilegales, también concesiones forestales y agrícolas otorgadas por el Ministerio de Agricultura y Riego en sus territorios. Los menonitas han deforestado grandes extensiones.
En los últimos años, la Chiquitanía, Chaco y la Amazonia han experimentado recurrentes eventos climáticos adversos, pero también, los territorios campesinos e indígenas están fuertemente presionados por el avance del modelo agroindustrial. Bolivia, actualmente presenta las mayores tasas de deforestación y cambio de uso de los suelos de la región, por la ampliación de la frontera agropecuaria (monocultivo oleaginosas y ganadería extensiva).
Este informe documenta y analiza los cambios en la estructura de la propiedad agraria en Colombia durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX y la primera década del siglo XXI. Se examina primero la legislación agraria y el reparto de tierras baldías en la primera mitad del siglo XX, para ver en perspectiva histórica la configuración de la estructura de la propiedad rural y establecer el peso que en esta han tenido las políticas de tierras del Estado colombiano.
Fraud and corruption are the main enabling mechanisms for land abuses in Brazil, guaranteeing impunity for land grabbers and other public and private agents involved in these schemes. This is what is evidenced in the research report, “Weak land governance, fraud and corruption: fertile ground for land grabbing,” which systematizes for the first time the relationship between these issues. Thereby, the study seeks to understand precisely why and how corruption and fraud associated with land grabbing occur.
O termo “grilagem” remete à prática antiga de forjar um título de propriedade e colocá-lo em uma gaveta com grilos para amarelar o documento, conferindo a aparência de um documento legitimo. As táticas se modernizaram, persistindo diversas práticas, conhecidas como grilagem, que buscam fraudar títulos e invadir terras com o objetivo de apropriar- -se indevidamente de áreas tanto públicas quanto particulares, muitas vezes com o auxílio de agentes corruptos, sejam eles da esfera pública ou privada.
L’étude a analysé dans 31 pays l’état de la reconnaissance juridique des droits des peuples autochtones, des communautés locales et des populations afro-descendantes sur le carbone présent sur leurs terres et territoires. Ensemble, ces pays détiennent près de 70 % des forêts tropicales du globe, et cinq d’entre eux disposent des plus grandes surfaces de forêt tropicale : le Brésil, la RDC, l’Indonésie, le Pérou et la Colombie.
There is little information concerning how people in the Global South perceive the benefits and costs associated with urban green areas. There is even less information on how governance influences the way people value these highly complex socio-ecological systems. We used semi-structured surveys, statistical analyses, and econometrics to explore the perceptions of users regarding governance and the benefits and costs, or Ecosystem Services (ES) and Ecosystem Disservices (ED), provided by Neotropical green areas and their willingness to invest, or not, for their conservation.

Brazil has the fifth-largest national land area in the world and this land resource represents a critical asset for the country’s urban, agricultural, and economic development, also providing essential environmental services. Nevertheless, it has a historical lack of governance over its lands, failing to provide secure land rights and to control the extensive frauds resulting in public and private land grabs. The objective of this study is to depict evidence of these land grabs and propose a typology for analyzing them.
