Es propósito de esta nota dar a conocer algunos datos históricos referentes a casos de propiedad colectiva de la tierra en el sector andino de la provincia de Jujuy. No existen publicaciones específicas referentes al tema y, desde luego, los escasos elementos de juicio que presentaré no pretenden subsanar esa carencia. Los expongo solamente como un aporte de interés para iniciar un capítulo íntimamente ligado al estudio del cambio cultural en la región mencionada.

This paper discusses the role of FAO support to the Government of Mozambiques Land Commission since 1995, through three consecutive projects. While each has had a relatively short duration, all have been planned and implemented within a single conceptual framework with a much longer time horizon. This has allowed a difficult and complex issue to be progressively developed and nurtured within a realistic time scale, while building up a strong sense of national ownership of the process.

These issues have been the subject of discussions and policy recommendations during many international forums, such as the International Conference on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ICARRD) held in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in March 2006.
