    The breed of the hen Oravka was created by crossbreeding of the regional hens with Rhode Island, Wyandotte and New Hampshire. Oravka and Bantam Oravka were recognised as breeds in 1990. The original breeding goal to create a dual purpose poultry breed with good egg production, growth ability and adaptability on altemative outdoor rearing was fulfilled during the individual stages of breeding programme, which started in the 1950. This year, 40 controlled breeds of Oravka with 56 males and 502 females were registered.

    This work analyzes the importance of land management in Slovakia in a typically rural mountain country. It points out the importance of social function implemented in a region, especially during the economic crisis. The multiple analysis of variance (ANOVA) test confirmed the relationships between the share of agricultural and forest land and the number of people in material need who depend on state aid.

    Nowadays it is necessary to process geographic data about landscape in a digital way. It is possible to analyse selected data and approach to decision and proposition-making process of landscaping based on analysis of these results. The LANDEP methodics provides us verified procedures of primary landscape structures assesment and landscaping. Digitalization of selected landscape elements increases processing efficiency, mainly for time reasons. Creation of complex landscape plans of cadastral areas at Slovakia should become a basic priority of every commune.

    This Act lays down some amendments and addenda to Fertilizers Act. In particular the amended art.3a defines requirements for secondary source of nutrients and compost, amended art 4 provides details on the register of certified fertilizers and register of mutually recognized fertilizers, and supplemented art. 5a regulates registration of fertilizers marketed in another Member State of the European Union.

    Land valuation in the landscape consolidation projects is currently based on the Decree no. 38/2005 Coll on determining the value of land and plantations for the purpose of land consolidations. Land value is determined using the evaluation map which in turn is created from the updated ESQU (BPEJ) in the area of the landscape consolidation project. The intersection of the layer of plots' boundaries with the evaluation map is the basis for determining the value of existing and new plots.

    The paper solves evaluation of current state of accessing the forest with forest road network in the forest management unit Čierny Váh, evaluatation the state of forest roads, point out shortcomings in accessing the forest and eventually propose optimal solutions to improve the situation in the area of interest. Thesis describes natural conditions of the area of interest.
