    In the presented paper there is presented description of discredited calculation model and course of calculations of design connected with project of secondary tillage set of new generation for simultaneous soil tillage and sowing with the use of universal drill. The design was elaborated with the use of computer system CAD-3D that allowed to build virtual solid models of machine. Strength calculations were carried out with the use of computer system of the high range group.

    The restructuring of the State Forests National Forest Holding activity also covered the functioning of the existing forest building infrastructure in the forest district administrations. In the paper I present the issues and specificity of forest building engineering, as well as problems connected with the sales of buildings offered by the State Forests National Forest Holding in 1999-2008. To illustrate the process of selling buildings in RDSF, an analysis of real estate foreseen for sale and listed in the -Information Bulletin of State Forests - in 1999 to 2008 was carried out.

    Human activities have exerted small to large scale changes on the hydrological cycle. The current scenario regarding groundwater resources suggests that globally there is a water crisis in terms of quantity (availability) and quality. Therefore there is a great need for the assessment and monitoring of quality and quantity of groundwater resources at local level. This paper presents a case study of the lower Shiwalik hills, in Rupnagar, Punjab, India, to trace land-use and land-cover changes during the past 17 years, with an emphasis on groundwater quality and quantity.

    The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the soil tillage system on soil enzymatic activity. The performed investigations, employing two soil tillage systems: classical (ploughing) and simplified (no-tillage), were carried out on lessives soils (Luvisols) and rusty soils (Arenosols) differing typologically, with regard to their kind and species. The activity of the following five enzymes was determined in soil samples: dehydrogenases, acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, urease and protease.

    The Act, which is composed of eight Chapters, lays down principles of protection of agricultural and forest lands, recultivation and improvement of land quality. Agricultural lands are protected by: limitation of their allocation for other purposes; prevention from degradation and devastation; recultivation; and preservation of peat areas and natural water reservoirs. Forest lands are protected by: limitation of their allocation for other purposes; prevention from degradation and devastation; restoration of land value; and prevention from reduction of productivity.
